Fantastic Event
Thank you to the delegates at the recent Los Angeles Religious Education Congress who enthusiastically received and endorsed Fr. James' workshop presentations and the JPIIMI's faith formation programs: Catholicism 201, Dogmatic Theology and In The Beginning. It is always a delight to attend this conference and meet so many wonderful people! We hope to see you again next year.

Workshop at L.A. Congress

In addition to the JPIIMI having a presence in the vendors' section at the upcoming Religious Education Congress in Anaheim, California March 22-25, Fr. James will also be presenting two workshops entitled "The New Evangelization" and "Going to the Dogs." We hope to see you there!

Parish Mission

Thank you to Fr. Gerald Campbell as well as the parishioners of Holy Name Parish in Westville and Stella Maris Parish in Pictou for hosting Fr. James for their parish mission late last month.

Heartfelt thanks to the organizers and approximately 400 delegates who attended the "Catholic Identity and New Evangelization" conference in Couva, Trinidad on February 4 and 5, as well as all those who placed orders for the JPIIMI's productions. Fr. James on TV

On Friday, February 10 Salt + Light Television will air an interview with Fr. James on Perspectives: The Weekly Edition on the topic of Parish Closures. The show can be seen at 7 and 11 pm EST (8 pm and midnight AST) with repeats on Sunday, February 12 at 7 and 11 pm EST (8 pm and midnight AST). Dogmatic Theology on S+L
Salt + Light Television will begin airing Dogmatic Theology on February 8. The eight week course can be viewed at 8 pm and midnight EST (9 pm and 1 am AST) on Wednesdays with repeats at 9 am and 1 pm EST (10 am and 2 pm AST) on Thursdays. It can be streamed live by clicking here.

Trinidad Conference
On February 4 and 5 representatives of the JPIIMI will be in Couva, Trinidad to help facilitate a conference on the call to the New Evangelization that will include five sessions by Fr. James.

Conference Speaker

During the upcoming Catholic School Chaplains of Ontario (CSCO) conference Fr. James will be both a guest speaker and a workshop presenter. This event, in celebration of the CSCO's 25th anniversary, will be held January 24-27 in Mississauga.

Men's Breakfast

On January 17 Fr. James will be the guest speaker for the Dartmouth Christian Men's Fellowship Prayer Breakfast in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia.

Parish Presentation
Dr. David Deane, the dogmatic theologian within Dogmatic Theology, will be speaking at Blessed Pope John XXII parish in Dartmouth, NS on January 19 about the Early Church's understanding of salvation. All are welcome!

Music Recording
During the month of December Peter-Anthony Togni, the composer of the original musical scores within Dogmatic Theology, will be premiering and recording his Missa Liberatsionis with the Latvian Youth Choir Balsis. All the best to you Peter!

Presentations in Illinois
December 6-8 Fr. James will be leading several presentations in the Diocese of Joliet, IL. These will take place at St. Matthew Parish in Glendale Heights on December 6, St. Mary Church in Mokena on December 7 and St. Charles Borromeo Pastoral Center in Romeoville on December 8. In addition to a talk on parish renewal, Fr. James' presentations will include evenings of reflection on both the season of Advent as well as the Church's call to the New Evangelization.

EWTN Appearance

Fr. James will appear on EWTN's program Life on the Rock at 10 pm EST on December 1. The show will discuss the JPIIMI's productions and will be rebroadcast on December 2 at 9 am EST and 8 pm EST as well as December 3 at 1 am EST.

Q and A
On November 25 Nicole Myshak, the JPIIMI's producer, will sit on a theological panel alongside of Dr. David Deane, the dogmatic theologian within Dogmatic Theology. The two will answer questions as part of a question and answer session for students at Dalhousie University in Halifax which will be hosted by Catholic Christian Outreach.

Successful Shoot

Many thanks to the helpful staff of the Debert Hospitality & Convention Centre as well as parishioners of Saint Benedict parish in Halifax for their assistance with a successful shoot on November 19 during the Alpha Holy Spirit Weekend. The JPIIMI crew couldn't have done it without you or the help of our devoted volunteers Geoff, Paul and Tanya!

TV Shoot This Weekend
Please pray for the JPIIMI's shoot of a talk on November 19 which will be used as an option for Alpha in a Catholic Context.

Meetings at the Vatican

In Rome with representatives of Alpha International including Nicky and Pippa Gumbel, Fr. James is taking part in meetings with Vatican officials concerning the role of Alpha in the New Evangelization.

While in the Eternal City Fr. James will meet with Cardinal Marc Ouellet, the prefect of the Congregation for Bishops, as well as Archbishop Jose Octavio Ruiz Arenas, the Secretary of the Pontifical Council for Promoting the New Evangelization, and Archbishop Claudio Maria Celli, president of the Pontifical Commission for Social Communications.

The JPIIMI's director will be interviewed by Rome Reports and will concelebrate Mass with Pope Benedict XVI. Before his return to Canada on November 6 Fr. James will also be participating in an Alpha workshop for priests and lay leaders of the Archdiocese of Chieti-Vasto, Italy.

Annual Stewardship Conference
Visit the JPIIMI in Booth 112 during the International Catholic Stewardship Council's Annual Stewardship Conference which will be held October 23-26 in Orlando, Florida. See you then!

Happy Feast Day JPII
On this first feast day of the JPIIMI's patron let us join the Church in prayer through the words of liturgy: "O God, who are rich in mercy and who willed that Blessed John Paul II should preside as pope over your universal church, grant, we pray, that instructed by his teaching, we may open our hearts to the saving grace of Christ, the sole redeemer of mankind. Who lives and reigns."

In Mexico

From October 17-19 members of the John Paul II Media Institute staff will be present at the Mexico National Alpha Conference for the Catholic Church which will be attended by bishops, priests and lay people from Central and South America. Fr. James will be speaking at the conference and Anne Marie Sime, the JPIIMI's office manager, will have a display in promotion of the Spanish edition of Catholicism 201.

Theology of the Body Course

Many thanks to Christopher West and the incredible staff of the Theology of the Body Institute in Pennsylvania for a grace-filled TOBI Head and Heart Immersion Course experience for the JPIIMI's producer, Nicole Myshak, from October 9-14. This academic retreat presented the life-changing teachings of the Media Institute's patron, Blessed Pope John Paul II, with sincerity and humility.

Promotional Video Completed
The best kept educational secret in Halifax, Our Lady of Schools (OLOS) is a coed, independent, Catholic elementary school situated on the property of St. Thomas Aquinas Church on Cornwall Street. Through its completion of a promotional piece for the school, the JPIIMI will be helping to spread the good news about this local educational treasure.

S+L Interview

On Friday, October 7 and Sunday, October 9 the JPIIMI's Producer, Nicole Myshak, will be appearing on the television program Perspectives: The Weekly Edition with Fr. Robert Barron, the creator and host of the Catholicism series, to discuss the question "Is the Media Necessary for the New Evangelization?"
